Design a Cover Readers Notice.
A cover has one job: to make the right reader stop. Ours begin with the genre, the shelf and the thumbnail, then earn their place on all three.
What cover design includes
- Genre and market research
- Concept development, usually two or three directions
- Front cover
- Spine, calculated to your page count and paper
- Back cover with blurb, author bio and barcode placement
- Ebook cover at platform-correct dimensions
- Paperback and hardcover (case laminate and dust jacket) versions
- Children's illustration where required
- Author branding across series and formats
- Print-ready files with bleed and colour profiles
Cover work
Concept covers demonstrating range across genres.
Labelled concept designs. Replace with client covers as they are approved for display; each can link to a case study on the portfolio page.
How a cover is designed
Brief and research
Your synopsis, comparable titles and the shelf your book will sit on.
Concepts
Two or three distinct directions presented as front covers.
Refinement
The chosen direction developed with your feedback, then extended to spine and back.
Final files
Print-ready PDFs to platform specification and ebook JPEGs, with a mockup for your marketing.
Common questions
Do you use stock images or original artwork?
Both, depending on genre and budget. Licensed stock imagery, custom photography and original illustration are all options, and the licence is always appropriate for commercial book use.
Will I get the source files?
You receive final print and ebook files as standard. Layered source files can be included by agreement.
Can you match an existing series?
Yes. Series design, including consistent typography and branding across multiple books, is a common request.
Ready to talk about your book?
A confidential conversation, a clear scope and a written quote. No obligation.
